Form of workRole: Pre-Sales Cloud Solution Architect- Specialist -L3 (Openstack + Kubernetes/OpenShift/Tanzu)
Our Pre-Sales Solution Architects provide commercial, technical, service and solution leadership. Using defined products and services with optional customisation, they partner with internal teams and external partners/ vendors to deliver solutions on time, specification, and budget. They are members of a pursuit team throughout the sales lifecycle providing resource and capability for the creation of solutions assisting in the objective for our customers technology and transformation initiatives. For larger and/or more complex opportunities, one or more Solutions Architects may work as part of a larger solutions/pursuit team with our Solution Leads, Solutions Directors and or Bid Management team and will be primarily responsible for delivering the technical and architecture components of the overall solution response. As role models for their discipline, Solutions Architects use their brand both internally and externally to inspire, encourage and develop the next generation of Solutions Architects. With coaching, mentoring, training and development, a pathway exists to become tomorrow's Solution Lead or Team Lead.

THE ROLE:
This role is a specialist Pre-Sales role around Openstack/Kubernetes/OpenShift to support Rackspace customer's in EMEA & APAC region. This role is part of Rackspace Private Cloud Business unit.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business is preferred.
Experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years' experience for 1 year of education.
EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of solutions engineering experience or experience working as a Pre-Sales solutions architect working with technologies such as Openstack, VMware, Kubernetes, OpenShift
At least TWO industry certifications required: Linux+, RHCSA/RHCE, VMware, CCNA, VCP, OpenStack, OpenShift, Kubernetes are preferred.
Experience with or working knowledge of VMware Tanzu and Kubernetes on VMware is a plus.
Experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years' experience for 1 year of education.
Must Have Technical Skills
o Experience working with OpenStack+ Kubernetes/OpenShift technology.
o Certification in Openstack plus Tanzu/OpenShift/Kubernetes
o Ability to lead customer workshops for requirements gathering solution mapping or proposal playback.
o Ability to Respond to technical RFP/RFI
o Owning a specific technology area and becoming the Subject Matter Expert (SME)
o Have experience with OpenStack and Kubernetes architecture and configuration best practices and guidelines.
o Ability to work with Product team to provide feedback from customers and try to improve the product.
Nice to have Skills-
o Experience of working with Private Cloud platforms based on VMware.
o Experience of Tanzu architecture, configuration is a plus.
o Knowledge and experience around security in OpenStack and VMware platform
o Experience in Managed or Professional Services engagements is highly beneficial.
o Attend Trade Shows, User Group Meetings or Conferences, either physically or virtually and present the "Why Rackspace?" message.
o Hands-on with DevOps Tools such as Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, octopus, Git, Bamboo, JuJu, and others is a plus.
o IT Industry experience or exposure to technologies and applications such as Docker, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, configuration management, Kafka or kinesis, Zookeeper, WordPress, Magento, and Hybris is a plus.
Location: Bangalore (WFH) or Remote Work
Travelling: Occasional (Anticipated 10-20% maximum)
