Description
A Body Shop Pre-Painter and Painter is responsible, and not limited to, painting school buses to help serve our community by providing transportation to students.
Body Shop Pre-Painter and Painter Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform color matching pictures with the camera provided to obtain perfect panel to panel color match.
• Learn the computer system of mixing paint.
• Reassemble the buses and equipment once the paint cycle is complete.
• Rust restoration
• Ensure buses are complete and ready to move to the pick up area.
• Maintain a neat and orderly working area, proper use and care of all company tools, tools and instruments will be returned to their proper location at the end of each shift. Paint guns, proper PPE, and anything required to complete any given task will be provided by Palmer Bus Body Shop.
• Help maintain the level of inventory in the mixing room and proper communication with the manager when supplies hit the re-order level.
• Complete work orders as required in a professional manner.
• During slow periods painters are responsible for doing extra cleaning/organization in their working areas.
• If more time can be spared they will be responsible for helping our fabrication team, eventually learning how to repair busses and equipment from the beginning of a work order.

Qualified candidates will be required to have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional trade school or college education preferred,1 year or more of body. Valid driver's license required. Dependable and reliable attendance is required. A desire to learn is a key component. Qualified candidates will be able to work in a fast paced environment and works well as a team.
Requirements
Position is responsible for:
1.Preparing the busses for paint which includes:
- Sanding and scuffing material
- Masking and tape
- Assisting with cleaning (wax and grease removing) equipment
2.Finish assembly after paint
- Assemble busses after paint
- Cleaning the bus out
- Assisting with final inspection
Must have high attention to detail
