The pre-op RN may assume the following responsibilities: work with the nursing team to review and assess pre-op H&P, labs, medication and orders to determine appropriate admission to facility. Experienced and skilled at IV access. Provide pre-op teaching to patients and their families.
The PACU RN is able to manage the airway immediately post-op. The PACU nurse assesses the patient for pain, bleeding and supports the patient through recovery from anesthesia. Post-op teaching is an integral part of ambulatory discharge.
Additional job requirements:
- Ability to deliver indirect and direct patient care according to established standards, taking into consideration the age and risk factors of each individual patient.
- Ability to perform ECGs and waive tests such as pregnancy tests, serum glucose and hemoglobin.
- Possess the knowledge and ability to use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of the patient.
- Uses nursing judgment in decision-making.
- Acts as a patient advocate in meeting his/her physical, psychological and spiritual needs during the ambulatory admission.
- Performs quickly and effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities
Required Skills:
Current CA nursing license
Graduate of accredited nursing program
1-2 years recent acute care experience such as DOU, ICU, ER.
- Orthopedic and Spine Procedure experience a PLUS

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
