Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be the primary interface between the engineering team & business users / clients.

  • Lead Software Engineering practice discussions on relevant technologies and roadmaps, practice ‘good standards’ for design & configuration of software solutions, peer reviews, re-use and sharing of solutions, versioning, common components, support, and testing of software changes

  • Establish the Software Engineering practice: define and implement the practice operating framework, define methods, and select tools

  • Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology road map. Influence, collaborate and communicate effectively with various leaders.

  • Provide updates on Software Engineering practice status and performance, and cascade relevant communications within the practice

  • Ensure that practice knowledge is curated into guides and knowledge repositories

  • Collaborate with architects, product management and other engineering teams to create solutions that increase the platform's value.

  • Own product delivery - This includes setting up and managing periodic progress meetings & delivering the product.

  • Resolve issues and risks that may impact the performance of the Software Engineering practice, including those escalated from your engineering team

  • Manage relevant software vendors, and support the Head of Procurement in commercial matters

Qualification

Is Education overrated? Yes. We believe so. But there is no way to locate you otherwise. So we might look for at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science  and preferably an MBA along with

  1. Have demonstrable experience in designing and building workflow and business process solutions and brings Strong understanding of Software Engineering best practices, methods and tools

  2. Any engineer with education of diploma or graduation (BCA, MCA, Engineering, etc)

  3. 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering;

  4. 3+ years of experience in management / tech-lead position in an cloud / infrastructure / High-Tech industries;

  5. Strong communication skills, especially communicating complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences, desired

  6. Successful track-record of Solution Architecting and High-end software development.

Our technology stack is insane and the role requires experience and understanding of the technologies like:

  1. Python, AngularJS

  2. PHP, Drupal, Wordpress

  3. HTML5, CSS3

  4. Angular.js, Node.js, JQuery, Bootstrap

  5. Databases: MongoDB, Google Cloud SQL, Graph/NoSQL, Bigtable

  6. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, DevOps,
