Qualified applicants must possess a High school diploma or GED plus specialized training and/or additional college courses and 2 years of related experience and/or training; and a minimum of 12-18 months of management experience.

This position is classified as safety sensitive. The City of Springdale an EOE and drug free workplace. Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. 2. Establish priorities for the workweek and sequence of projects in order to coordinate and ensure efficient completion of the established work schedule.

3. Operate equipment including, but not limited to riding lawn mowers, push mowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, hand tools, edgers and blowers. 4.

Operate heavy equipment including a front end loader, tractor, drag, four wheelers, and gators. 5. Coordinate the fulfillment of needs of parks and equipment.

6. Report vandalism, hazardous conditions, and park facility closings to Parks Superintendent. 7.

Keep park facilities clean, maintained and stocked with supplies as needed. 8. Perform other related duties as required or assigned by Parks Superintendent.

9. Responsible to follow safety procedures set by the Department and City guidelines. 10.

Repair equipment as necessary. 11. When possible, assists with general maintenance of other park facilities.

12. Oversee the daily activities of work crews in order to provide direction and ensure completion of projects. 13.

Make decisions regarding natural materials to be used on projects and on methods to be used in performing tasks in order to ensure safety and protection of the environment during construction and maintenance projects. 14. Assess trail conditions, process observations into written reports, and make recommendations in order to provide training and ensure protection of the environment.

15. Communicates with laborers, volunteers, supervisors, and others in order to provide information, training, and motivation. 16.

Physically able to perform strenuous work outdoors for extended periods of time including but not limited to digging, vegetation clipping, and lifting materials over 50 lbs. 17. May be required to work overtime and weekends for special program events.

18. Perform other duties as required or assigned. SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES None Indicated.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED plus specialized training and/or additional college courses and 2 years of related experience and/or training; and a minimum of 12-18 months of management experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License. PUBLIC CONTACT As needed contact with the general public, businesses, and equipment and material suppliers.

EMPLOYEE CONTACT Regular contacts within the department and with other departments as needed. USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS Must be proficient in the use of riding lawn mowers, front end loaders, weed trimmers, four wheelers, Gators, a push mower, and chain saws. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects.

Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff. Must be knowledgeable of trail construction, maintenance techniques, and specialized tools and equipment used in trail construction and maintenance ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS The following work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
