The NVH Engineer for powertrain is the technical expert and lead for manufacturing quality engineering. The candidate will lead the technical analysis of the most challenging NVH problems with the respective cross functional design, process, production and field teams. Responsibility includes component level investigation and RCA, dyno operations and limits, and vehicle correlation and studies. The primary objective of this role is to support the production of high quality vehicles through risks analysis and mitigation, and continual improvement of our products and processes. An ideal candidate is a data-driven individual that has demonstrated complex problem solving skills, who can strive in high-pressure and time-sensitive situations.
What You’ll Do- Develop manufacturing requirements, quality standards, and product quality plans to ensure products will meet expectations of our target customers
- Lead development of PFMEAs, control plans, and test/inspection procedures to identify and eliminate risks associated with our products and processes
- Drive cross-functional problem solving teams to drive process and product improvements, and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation, and validation of effective corrective and preventive actions
- Support qualification and validation of new products and new production lines
- Collaborate with internal supply chain and external suppliers to drive continual improvement of supplier quality
- Lead activities for control of non-conforming product and develop disposition guidelines
- Drive investigations and improvement to overall field quality
- Support production operations to achieve both production and quality KPIs
- Lead NVH engineering team activities
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment in NVH field or research NVH field
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and complex problem solving
- Experience in advanced NVH and Quality concepts, including PFMEA/DFMEA, risk management, process control, continuous improvement, DoE, six sigma concepts, NVH software, NVH analysis, and dyno analysis
