Position Summary
South Jersey Industries reflects its commitment to obtaining and developing top talent through the POWER Rotational Leadership Development Program. This program provides challenges and unique learning opportunities, designed to enhance your leadership skills. This program's flexibility will allow you to meet your development needs as well as the needs of the business.
This is a POWER Program role, open to graduates from December 2023 or anticipated graduates in May 2024. Our POWER Program consists of rotational assignments designed to showcase different businesses within the organization. Rotational opportunities may be in our Regulated, Non-Regulated and Services businesses. As an SJI employee, you will have the opportunity to interact directly with senior executives, gain hands-on experience in key business lines and directly impact bottom line results. We aspire to train and prepare a new generation of leaders for our rapidly-growing organization.

Essential Functions:
Strategy & Development - As part of the Strategy & Development group, you will be involved in working on strategies and initiatives that are driving the future growth of the utility & non-utility businesses at SJI.
Highlights include:
  • Working with business development and origination to identify and vet potential acquisition opportunities
  • Working with corporate development & strategy team to develop targeted strategies for growth and researching new or developing markets
  • Supporting the innovation team in researching new ideas, technologies and business lines at SJI Gain valuable experience in project development and what it takes to create a successful project from scratch

Financial Modeling:
  • Work with other members of the financial modeling group to implement production quality models that include valuations, sensitivity analysis and various capital structures
  • Participate in full due diligence to identify all details of projects
  • Support update and enhancement of the utility and non-utility strategic operating model (5-year model)
  • Analyze research data and synthesize raw information into insights and recommendations

Renewable Energy Ventures Project Delivery: As part of the SJI Renewable Energy Ventures team, you will be part of a rapidly growing portfolio of renewable assets spanning a variety of technologies. Within this team, you will be exposed to delivering projects in-line with expectations across the delivery value chain including contracting, construction, commissioning, and placing assets into service.
Some key functions include:
  • Support the execution of a portfolio of Renewable Assets including Renewable Natural derived from landfill gas, food-waste, and dairy manure. The portfolio also encompasses traditional renewable assets such as solar and fuel cell technologies.
  • Work closely with various project management groups to develop and monitor progress on execution including construction milestones, commissioning activities, operational readiness, and documentation supporting tax incentives.
  • Participate in project related working sessions, update presentations, financial reviews
  • Aid in the building of presentations and dashboards to support regular operational reviews.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to manage projects and priorities related to renewable technologies.
  • Availability to work a hybrid schedule based out of our Folsom ,NJ office Monday through Friday during daytime business hours.

Qualifications
Required Background:
  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or another related field- December 2023 or anticipated May 2024
  • Independent and innovative thinking
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate, facilitate and drive results
