The Power BI Developer will help create and manage our business intelligence infrastructure, tools, and reports to turn data into actionable insights. You'll have direct contact with company leaders and will be key to allowing data to guide our decisions by translating complex information in a way that's understandable to all. To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a deep understanding of Power BI and database management systems, problem-solving and time management skills, and lots of initiative.
Trazi is a web management company that owns and manages several online e-commerce businesses. We have been a leader in this space for the last 5 years and continue to grow year after year.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Report Development and Data Management:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Create visually appealing and user-friendly reports to convey complex data insights.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for Power BI reports.
- Develop data models and relationships to support accurate reporting.
- Extract data from various sources and transform it for effective use in Power BI.
- Implement data cleansing and transformation processes to ensure data accuracy.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data from databases.
- Utilize Power Query M language for data transformation within Power BI.
- Optimize Power BI report performance for faster loading and responsiveness.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in data retrieval and visualization.
- Implement security measures and access controls to protect sensitive data within Power BI reports.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Collaboration, Communication, and Documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Power BI reports into business processes.
- Work closely with database administrators and data engineers to ensure seamless data flow.
- Provide training to end-users on navigating and interpreting Power BI reports.
- Provide support for Power BI-related issues and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve technical issues. Develop and maintain documentation for Power BI solutions, including data models and report specifications.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and provide regular updates.
- Present findings and insights derived from Power BI reports to stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct thorough testing of Power BI reports to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Implement quality assurance measures to validate data integrity.
- Stay informed about Power BI updates and new features to leverage the latest functionalities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing Power BI solutions.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience and Technical Proficiency Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience as a BI Developer or Analyst.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience specifically with Power BI.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with SQL, including data querying and manipulation.
- Proficiency in Power M, DAX calculations, and formulas for Power BI.
- Solid understanding of database management systems, preferably experience with Postgres.
- Familiarity with online analytical processing (OLAP) and the extract, transform, load (ETL) framework.
- Experience in designing and implementing effective data models to support reporting requirements.
- Interpersonal Skills and Attributes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude to address complex business challenges through data analysis.
- Proven ability to take initiative, be innovative, and drive improvements in BI solutions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong communication skills to translate business needs into technical specifications and present findings to stakeholders.

- Authorization and Workspace:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have a stable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.
- Experience with Google Analytics.
- Experience with Sprints, Scrum, and/or Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with subscription metrics and models.
- Familiarity with how payment processing works.
- Programming experience is preferred.
- Management or leadership experience within a reporting team.
