Powder Finishers is a metal finishing company established more than 30 years ago and was acquired by KSP in 2018. We service Jensen Metal Products, Real Flame and Jensen Castings as well as many other independent and corporate clients. Our capabilities include pre-finishing, powder-coating, light assembly and packaging. We pride ourselves on problem solving and our ability to quickly deliver high-quality products. A spacious facility allows us the unique flexibility to work on a wide array of substrates in various sizes and weight classes.
Position Summary
The Powder Coat Painter will ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and on-time performance. You will safely set up and operate powder application equipment including powder guns, hoppers, and powder booths while painting various shapes and sizes of steel and aluminum components on a moving conveyor line. You will be an expert in the department required to communicate well and train new employees.
Essential Functions

  • Ensure all parts are properly painted and work instructions are followed precisely
  • Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems
  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
  • Determine flow and coating quality by performing visual inspections
  • Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
  • Ensure spray efficiencies are meeting KPI’s based on quoted levels
  • Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and on-time performance
  • Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout the facility
  • Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment
  • Ensure proper cleaning by removing waster powder and maintenance of equipment
  • Train new associates Powder Coating operations and techniques
  • Every employee has the right and obligation to stop any process or job, and immediately notify their supervisor if they deem it does not meet the quality requirements or is unsafe
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervision
  • Must be able to work M-TH, 6:00am-4:30pm. To meet the needs of the customer’s occasional overtime may be required. The company will try and give as much notice as possible.

Physical Demands

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, hands, fingers, legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling of materials, and operating machinery
  • Carrying & lifting 10 - 75 Pounds frequently
  • Ability to endure hours exposed to heat
  • Ability to move and transfer products with an overhead crane
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, general respirator medical & hearing evaluation

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Powder Coating painting
  • Good knowledge of mechanics and repair of painting equipment
  • Knowledge wash and pretreatments

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
