JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Manufacturing Operator 1 is responsible for supporting the manufacturing department in the blending of powders, weighing raw materials, and operating a motorized forklift to move products throughout the manufacturing area. The individual will be blending chemicals with a range of hazard ratings, including irritants, corrosives, and oxidizers, so the ability to follow safety procedures and wear the proper personal protective equipment is extremely important. The Manufacturing Operator 1 must be able to follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and cGMP regulations to ensure products meet applicable quality standards. The Operator Is accountable for overall safety, quality, and equipment efficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Blending batches of powders following batching sheets and SOPs
- Perform routine quality testing of the product.
- Check, weigh, and verify raw materials.
- Ensure lot numbers and ingredients are properly recorded and tracked.
- Operate a motorized forklift and pallet jacks to move bulk products, weighed materials, and blended products throughout the facility.
- Work safely with chemicals with varying hazard ratings.
- Pulling and organizing materials necessary to produce finished batches and verifying the materials to be used.
- Performing inventory transactions in the MRP system to ensure chemicals are allocated properly and inventory is accurate.
- Daily start-up and shutdown of the manufacturing area
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have good listening and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret recipes, weights, and measures.
- Must effectively operate a forklift; ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Must have a valid driver license.
- Bilingual English or Spanish is a plus.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma, a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
2-3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting, a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Extended periods of standing.
- Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 60 pounds.
