Post Production Specialist

SUMMARY: The Post-Production Specialist is responsible for logistical media facilitation on all post-production projects. The Post-Production Specialist is the resource and asset gatekeeper who maintains and tracks all project media assets on all projects. They also assist in facilitating, coordinating, and helping manage the flow of post-production assets for all projects in/out of the department and office. They are also required to build and/or maintain the processes needed to keep the MAM, DAM and server libraries organized and accessible for all projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the post-production environment at SharkNinja Irvine, and working with post-production activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to a high standard. Candidates should have 4+ years of experience and can confidently take a project from storyboards and raw footage to color correction and finishing. The ideal candidate should be an experienced assistant editor on a variety of editorial projects for an agency, including extensive short form editorial and projects with a motion graphic influenced concept.  This person must be organized and have working knowledge of Edit Share and/or other MAM/DAM solutions. Candidate will provide ongoing support to the Post-Production & System manager to ensure that media assets for all projects are properly organized, tagged and backed up on local media servers and in the cloud. They must have the ability to leverage a creative or product narrative and build visual and editorial story in innovative ways. Experience working with branded, lifestyle and product centric projects a must.

Projects may range from short form digital ads, semi-scripted to unscripted, organic social videos (sound on & sound off), sizzle videos, mashups, longer-form episodic testimonials. The AE should have strong knowledge working with DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Cloud, as well as, have a passion for leveraging music and sound design to drive editorial.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help support and manage post-production activities from start to finish, including editing, color grading, sound mixing, and mastering.
• Work closely with producers, directors, and other team members to ensure that the creative vision is realized.
• Proficient advanced level with post-production tools such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
• Support schedules for post-production team in work management applications such as Wrike
• Provide support to teams of post-production professionals, including editors, colorists, and sound mixers in house and freelance.
• High level of file structure and media organization.
• Help to build and implement process/systems/workflow and for Irvine office Post Production teams
• Provide ongoing support to the Post-Production, MAM, and DAM managers to ensure that media assets for all projects are properly organized, tagged and backed up on the DAM media server.
• Meta Tagging and logging of Footage
• Supporting Finishing Editor through the production of LUTs, conforms and localization deliveries to 3rd party vendors.
• Help prep projects for color grading.
• Link and relink audio and color for projects back to server to ensure smooth finishing and ease reconnecting updates to archived projects.
• Prep files for audio sweetening.
• Support administrator to help teams get set up on our local media server.
• Providing internal and external editors DaVinci resolve tech support.
• Conform projects inside of Adobe Premiere and DaVinici Resolve.
• Ensures any round trip media processing is achieved for all in house and external Post Production teams.
• This Includes:

• Relinking archived projects for updates and new distribution.
• Prepare files for sound mixing and return to online.
• Making sure all projects come back to SharkNinja Irvine with all proper size changes and speed changes within edit for projects.

• Localize assets and projects for International teams including Canada and Europe.
• General project prep on projects for external editors, motion graphics artists.
• Transcoding for multiple distribution formats.

• Layout processes for Production teams such as DITs and Media Wranglers to ensure proper 1-2-3 media backups are achieved on our shoots.
• Help Producers onboard teams with our workflow structure.
• Monitor and set up automated backups via Edit Share and Backblaze.
• Server organization/maintenance.
• Media ingesting (footage we shoot, footage from outside vendors).
• Transcodes, including proxy automation and generation.
• Setting up projects and pipelines for outside vendors to ensure projects go and come back to our server as SharkNinja Post-Production needs it; they are prepared for domestic and international distribution.
• Prep hard drives for the shoot.
• Provide back-end help on ingesting, labeling, and organizing footage for editorial teams.
• Edit Share tech support for editors.
• Knowledge of PCoIP platforms such as Teradici
• Remote based workflows through corporate VPNs

• Consolidation of assets and projects for International teams, including Canada and Europe.
• Transcoding for multiple distribution formats.

• Work closely with producers, directors, and other team members to ensure that the creative vision is realized.

• Ability to learn media asset management systems such as  AirFlow, Media Silo, and Iconik.
• Understanding of shared Filespace platforms such as Lucid Link and Dropbox.
• Knowledge of collaboration platforms such as Frame IO, Media Silo, Dropbox Replay, and Edit Share Flow.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in film, video production, communications, advertising, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in post-production, including editing, color grading, and sound mixing.
• Understanding of work management tools such as Wrike and Microsoft Office 365
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience managing and supporting a team of post-production professionals

• Provide back-end help on ingesting, labeling, and organizing footage for editorial teams.

• Localize assets and projects for International teams, including Canada and Europe.
• Transcoding for multiple distribution formats.

Location:

This position is in Irvine, CA, with travel to locations in North America and globally when needed - Hybrid. The role may include occasional work at an SharkNinja offices or attendance at offsites, as agreed to by managers.
