Post Production Field Engineer

We are looking for:  

We’re looking to hire Field Engineers Professional Services team in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay areas, respectively.

Job Responsibilities:

The Field Engineer's responsibility will include installation & integration services for all storage, servers, workstations, switches and related gear sold to our customers by the VAR side of ASG LLC's business. These individuals also are responsible for timely response to our customers under SLA for ongoing maintenance and ongoing support services.

The role requires on-site visits to our customer locations to perform work duties, some tasks may be done remotely via your own home office, but the bulk of the work is in the field (in either San Francisco, or Los Angeles).

Job Requirements:

• 4-6 years IT experience within the Media & Entertainment industry.

• Experience deploying and supporting Dell/EMC Isilon, Quantum, OpenDrives or similar ethernet/fiber based SAN, NAS, Backup/Archive storage systems

• Proficiency with block level & clustered NAS storage systems (Isilon, Qumulo, NetApp, Quantum, Hitachi)

• Proven track record installing, configuring and supporting fiber & ethernet switch technology including Mellanox, Arista, Brocade etc. 

• Experience supporting Video Editors, Animation/Graphics Departments, Media Asset Manager Systems.

• Ability to diagnose and solve issues in collaborative storage environments, such as asset permissions issues, block-level storage issues, fiber-channel and IP networking issues, etc.

• Proficient using CLI, Mac/Win/Linux.

• Competent using SSH, network monitoring and analysis tools. 

• Seasoned professional troubleshooting skills.

• Strong detail oriented documentation skills.

• Ability to work flexible hours and a willingness to work evenings and weekends if necessary.

Additional Qualifications:

• Visio/Lucid/Omnigraffle drawing proficiency preferred, AutoCad proficiency an extra bonus.

• Experience configuring and utilizing cloud storage, cloud compute, and transcoding workflows.

• Practical experience with Media Production and Post-production technologies and workflows (Avid Media Composer and ProTools experience a plus)

• Relevant Certifications (i.e. Cisco, Mellanox, Arista, Dell/EMC, Quantum, any Windows or Linux Certifications including MCSA, MCSE, RHCT, RHCE etc. 

• Directory Services (LDAP, Active/Open Directory) Implementation & Administration experience

• Windows or Linux (RHCSA) Certification.

• Any other storage, archive or networking certifications.
