Renaissance Economic Development Corporation (REDC) is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to transform low-to-moderate income and immigrant communities in New York City by providing low-interest small business loans, training and counseling services. REDC is an affiliate of Asian Americans for Equality, one of the country's leading community development nonprofits. As an organization deeply rooted in the neighborhoods it serves, REDC works hand-in-hand with local business owners to ensure their long-term success. Renaissance also provides financial literacy services and comprehensive technical assistance to small business owners and entrepreneurs each year through individual counseling and classroom sessions.
We are US Treasury certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), SBA Intermediary Microlender, and SBA Community Advantage (7a) lender. Renaissance's lending activities are guided by a commitment to increase business opportunities for low-income, minority, women, and immigrant entrepreneurs.
Position Description:
The Post-closing Administrator's primary responsibility is to assist the Loan Servicing team with collections of borrowers payments, maintenance of loan files, and providing customer service to borrowers.
We are currently seeking a candidate who has a keen eye for detail and very organized. The candidate should be familiar with small business loan documentation and overviewing data.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist Senior Loan Servicer with Processing borrower(s)' loan checks and/or ACH payments on a monthly basis and record payments received or record missed payments in the appropriate systems.
  • Assist with data entry with monthly funder reports ie: SBA, Federal Reserve Bank, CDFI.
  • Speak to borrowers to determine reason for delinquency; using excellent customer service skills and evaluating borrowers' financial situation.
  • Update loan files, supply information from loan files, send files for scanning, index & audit of documents, maintain security of borrower loan files to specified guidelines and obtain paper or digital copies for management, auditors or collections attorney.
  • Perform a variety of operational duties and functions within the Loan Portfolio department including but not limited to new account boarding, monetary and nonmonetary transaction posting, documentation review, document scanning and indexing, document archival and retrieval.
  • Assist with creating and sending monthly invoices to borrowers.
  • Open and process all mail sent to the Loan Servicing Department on a daily basis.
  • Answer telephone and email inquiries from borrowers on a daily basis, and provide technical assistance to borrowers as needed.
  • Inform borrowers of payoffs or charge offs.
  • Send delinquency notices to borrowers and record these notices in the appropriate system
  • Assist with loan modification document collection when borrower(s) are unable to maintain payment according to current loan terms.
  • Adhere to all REDC Credit policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to SBA lending and demonstrate attained knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
  • Minimum two (2) years of loan collections experience in NYS preferred
  • Good communication and telephone skills, and a sense of urgency.
  • Flexible and willing to work additional time as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, the ability to communicate clearly, and firmly.
  • Superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Possess sound judgment, effective decision making, customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with diverse constituents
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently under minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access
  • Fluency in Chinese, Korean and/or Spanish language is highly desirable
  • Knowledgeable of Down Home Loan Management System is highly desirable

Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000
