What You'll Do:
Principal is hiring a Portfolio Manager to join the Benefits and Protection team to lead critical initiatives for our Distribution and Broker Dealer business area in partnership with Product Managers and IT leaders in alignment of strategic goals. The selected candidate will support the business in turning strategy into execution by providing leadership in order to influence change, contribute value, and deliver strong results for the organization. This position will work as part of a matrixed organization which requires the ability to effectively build and leverage relationships, adapt in ambiguous situations and manage expectations.
Below are the main responsibilities of the role:
- Ensure alignment to enterprise and business strategic objectives and the achievement of strategic outcomes.
- Increase use of data and analytics to make sound decisions and deliver results
- Effectively drive the execution of customer and distribution partner needs through organization, through communication, transparency, collaboration, dependency and risk management within and across portfolios, removing impediments
- Partner across the enterprise to deliver enterprise results and advance/evolve solutions that meet organizational needs
- Lead and communicate results, progress, risks, roadblocks, financial aspects and data to teams, sponsors and partners ensuring collaboration, decision making and direction.
- Lead continuous improvement, partnering with leaders, coaches, and team members to foster discovery and innovation, improve delivery speed and increase transparency and achieve strategic outcomes.
- Advocate, influence and lead change to support an innovative culture.
- Perform other job-related duties or special needs as required.

Who You Are:
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration, or equivalent experience, plus 6+ years experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, facilitation, planning, and decision making skills
- Must be able to work with people at all levels, including outside consultants and vendors, and be able to influence others without formal authority
- Use your capabilities to build and maintain relationships and facilitate collaboration and communication, including being perceived as a leader
- Must be results oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous situations and manage expectations
- Demonstrate experiences to execute effectively in matrix management environment
- Preferred knowledge or experience with customer focused product approach with a strong understanding of creating and tracking key results
- Experience and/or proven ability to assess organizational culture and appropriately adapt work efforts to deliver required results
- Minimal travel may be required, including overnight stays
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $106400 - $167000 / year Time Off Program: Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible: Yes Additional Information:
