Job Summary:
We’re looking for a Field Supervisor to manage a team of field Porters. The Field Supervisor is an employee who works in the field. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing field projects and teams and will be able to troubleshoot any problems that may arise. The Field Supervisor will manage their teams ensuring that all the scope of work is conducted according to protocol, and that data is collected accurately and efficiently. The Field Supervisor oversees their own team or may have to work with a project manager or supervisor.
A field supervisor handles managing the team’s activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within the budget.
The field supervisor must have supervisory or managerial skills, and the ability to present reports to upper management if necessary.
Field Supervisor Duties:
- Ensure that all jobsites are free of trash debris and that all personnel follow proper safety procedures.
- Coordinate and review all scopes of work and make sure the properties are kept up to the client’s standard.
- Coordinate with the Scheduler for illegal dumping and pick up of items at the properties.
- Conduct onsite inspections, including evaluation of personnel, tools, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and updated records on all different properties and clients.
- Meet with clients and onsite contacts on a regular basis.
- Train and provide regular feedback to the field personnel.
- Fire and hire new talent for the department.
- Make sure all trucks are clean and report any mechanical issues to the Field Manager.
Field Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between the team and upper management, and dispatch trucks, drivers, and equipment, including dispatching trailers and illegal dumping pickups.
- Train new porters, drivers, and support staff
- Manage a fleet of vehicles and equipment.
- Track and report equipment usage, mileage, and fuel costs.
- Supervise staff during work hours and manage special projects.
- Provide excellent customer service to customers.
- Maintain and improve performance and safety standards.
- Oversee recruiting, employee training, scheduling, and performance.
- Manage cost controls.
- Enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain proper documentation.
Requirements And Skills:
- 2+ years’ proven management experience, preferably in the field of Porter.
- Knowledge of use of computers, phone, iPad and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Flexible schedule and work over the weekend sometimes required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a must.
- Clean driving record.
- Mechanically inclined.
