The Position
Rudin, as agent, seeks to hire Porters to join the company. We are looking for a candidate that can hit the ground running. This is a 32BJ Union position.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Essential Functions:
· Must be comfortable handling cleaning products and equipment
· Ability to lift at least 75 pounds
· Must be able to bend, lift, go up and down stairs
· Must monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the building
· Must be able to report to work on time and remain alert for the entirety of the shift
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Maintenance:
· Responsible for the upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exterior and interiors, including lobby, mail area, hallways, stairways and elevators.
· During inclement weather, laying down rain mats, sweeping exterior puddles, mopping common area floors, snow removal when necessary.
· Remove trash from common areas and exterior perimeters on a daily basis.
· Assist in the preparation of market ready units, removal of trash from vacant apartments and small touch-up maintenance. Will perform fine detail cleaning when needed.
· Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments and common areas.
· Assist maintenance person or residential manager by performing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
· Must be able to comply with all company, local, state, and federal safety rules
Safety:
· Ensure that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.
· Understanding and ensuring compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules.
· Immediately report all unsafe conditions.
Other Ad Hoc duties:
· Relief coverage of building lobby post
· Operating the service elevator-upon completed training requirements.
· Answering phones
Requirements:
· Attendance: Must complete three shifts per week, at minimum.
· Neat, clean and professional.
· Safety Awareness: recognize signs of potential danger and enforce safety measures.
· The job requires standing, lifting and carrying items, as well as manual labor.
· Computer skills a plus.
· Punctual and reliable, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Must use sound judgment, show discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
· Detail oriented and extremely organized with an ability to multi-task
· Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Compensation:
- The compensation for this role is subject to the terms of the 2022 Apartment Building Agreement between the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations Inc. and SEIU Local 32BJ (“Contract”)
- The new hire rate for this position is 75% of the Contract minimum
- The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.96 - $27.95
