Purpose of Role
McLaren Automotive Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Port Quality Manager at the Port of Baltimore. As a McLaren Port Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team of specialist technicians in the port facility. Your primary focus will be ensuring the quality of all new vehicles arriving from our factory, representing the voice of the customer within McLaren Automotive Incorporated Operations in North America.
Principal Accountabilities
- Lead and manage a small team of third-party specialist technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the highest level of quality released from our Port Processing Facility. This will include both fit and finish visual quality along with mechanical and software validations.
- Conduct daily inspection and audits on 100% of the inbound vehicles to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with McLaren’s quality standards.
- Represent the voice of the customer within the Port Operations facility, providing valuable insights to improve quality and customer satisfaction. Feedback results of quality audits to our counterparts at the factory and work to improve the quality of arriving vehicles.
- Collaborate with the factory Warranty administrator to assess claims coming in quality issue identified at the port. Submit parts orders and manage the supply of replacement parts and paint re-works as necessary.
- Provide regular and timely reports on quality metrics, warranty claims, and improvement initiatives to all internal stakeholders.
- Maintain a clear and open communication channel with the Port Operations and Logistics manager to enable accurate planning for outbound trucking and monthly wholesale objectives.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- The candidate for this role will have strong existing technical knowledge of high-performance vehicles and port operations.
- Must be capable of working independently and actively collaborate with all areas of the organisation.
- Experience in automotive technical reworks, software, and paint quality
- Full appropriate driving licence
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Office Suite)
