Job Description
Pool & Spa Technician
Job Summary: Service and maintain all RCSC pools and spas, including all associated ultraviolet (UV) sanitization equipment and pool decks.
Days/Shift: 6am - 2:30pm Monday-Friday (and for the occasional emergency, only if necessary)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform repair and preventative maintenance tasks on all RCSC pool equipment
- Namely: Assemble, disassemble, replace, install and repair including, but not limited to, heaters, electric motors, pool piping, pumps, valves, filters, chemical dispensing systems, gauges, automatic controls, skimmers, pool lights and VGB drains.
- Maintain proper chemical balance for all pools and spas
- Notify Area Supervisor(s) when pool/spa mechanical rooms need to be cleaned and/or better organized
- Forecast equipment, parts, materials, supplies and vendor services costs during budget preparation
- Prepare and maintain accurate and up to date service records on all pool equipment
- Obtain bids, coordinate, and oversee pool contractor repair efforts
- Communicate and meet repair deadlines
- Communicate thoughtfully, clearly, and professionally with RCSC staff and cardholders
- Must consistently ensure compliance with current county health code requirements.
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- One year of demonstrated mechanical experience including systems troubleshooting
- Light electrical experience needed for connecting/disconnecting motors and pool/spa equipment
- Prior experience in swimming pool maintenance and repair preferred
- Prior experience with UV sanitization equipment preferred
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within 6 months, a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certificate
- Must possess good reading, comprehension, spelling, math, analytical and legible writing skills
- Must possess a valid State of Arizona driver’s license and safe driving record
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of and ability to follow safety procedures
- Knowledge of chemicals used in maintaining pools and spas
- Familiar with and ability to read, understand and maintain Material Safety Data Sheets
- Knowledge and use of personal protective equipment required for the job
- Ability to use digital volt-ohm meter for checking circuits
- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds and to seek help and/or aid others with any object(s) over that weight
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to work in and around water
Working Conditions
