The City of Laguna Beach is looking for responsible and personable candidates to fill our position of Pool Lifeguard and Swim Instructor!
What you'll do: Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator, Pool Lifeguard/Swim Instructors instruct swim classes, enforce pool rules and regulations, prevent accidents, perform rescues of persons in distress, and perform facility clean-up and maintenance at the Laguna Beach High School and community pool facility.
When you'll work:
Off-season
Weekdays: 6:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Weekends: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Summer
Weekdays: 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Weekends: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Pre-employment Process: A candidate selected for this position must successfully pass a live scan fingerprint check with the State Department of Justice.Candidates will be hired under the classification of Swim Instructor/Pool Lifeguard Hourly Part-Time for a complete description of the position click here. Applicants under the age of 18 must have a work permit. A work permit is not needed to participate in the interview or swim test.

License/Certificate Requirements:A current American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding is required. Certification is not required to apply but must be obtained before starting.
Experience: Experience as a Pool Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, advanced swimming ability, and prior public contact work experience, including working with children is desirable, but not required.Why work for the City of Laguna Beach?
