JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this class within the organization is to handle monetary transactions for patrons of the City’s pool facilities.
Essential Functions
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class, as necessary.
- Collects fees, operate a balanced cash register and accurately, honestly and efficiently provide proper cash flow;
- Greet and welcome guests, parents and/or participants in a clear, proper, courteous, and efficient manner;
- Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiate with others;
- Responsible for a clean workstation and surrounding areas before/during/after shifts;
- Clean restroom and shower facilities, as well as assist with overall maintenance of pool area;
- Understand and communicate to the public the attire is and is not acceptable in the water;
- Assign and maintain locker log for guests;
- Ensures appropriate change is given to patrons with cash transactions; and
- Performs related work as assigned.
Work Environment
Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
Involves routine and excessive exposure to extreme indirect and direct heat and/or cold for extended periods of time, wet or humid conditions.
Physical Demands
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Performs sedentary work that involves standing most of the time but may involve walking for brief periods of time; requires moderate dexterity. May also involve exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Diploma or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED);
- Requires the understanding of both English and Spanish languages.
- Prior experience is preferred.
- Required a CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
