Greenfield Police Department is now accepting Applications all year!  Once a position is available we will contact applicants about the next steps. The Physical Agility Test will be announced at a later date and all applicants will be contacted via email with additional information.

We will accept lateral candidates with this process.  Lateral candidates are ILEA Tier 1 certified or have equivalent certification from another state.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must be US Citizen
2. Must be at least 21 years of age, but not older than 39 at the time of appointment
3. High School Diploma or GED
4. Must have a valid Indiana Driver's License
5. No felony convictions
6. Must be able to possess firearms

SALARY for 2024:

• Probationary: $63,815.98 (until completion of FTO)
• Lateral Hires: Up to $70,247.34 (with 3 or more years of service, after FTO)
• $5,000 Max Longevity Yearly ($250/year of service at GPD)

  JOB DESCRIPTION/GENERAL DUTIES: Incumbent serves as Patrol Officer for the Greenfield Police Department, responsible for enforcing federal, state, and local laws. Serving and protecting individuals, their rights, and property.  Building stronger community relationships daily.   BENEFITS:

INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

Population of Greenfield is 24,000+, we are currently creating a candidate list. We respond to around 25,000 calls a year. The city has a lot of new growth with several trails and parks.

TESTING REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum passing score for the Written exam is 70%. Must pass the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Physical Agility exit standards (www.in.gov/ilea/physical-fitness-standards/).
