Plans, develops, implements, evaluates and coordinates the provision of statewide poison prevention education and Poison Center services in compliance with America’s Poison Centers (APC) accreditation criteria, which includes all public education, material development, website and multi-media promotions, as well as oversight of requests for information. Assists with program implementation and support by monitoring and/or implementing objectives and performance measures related to federal and state grants.
Minimum Job RequirementsEducation (Experience can be substituted for education)
Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in community outreach and program development.
Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
Ability to exercise judgment, ingenuity and solid decision making skills.
Requires advanced organizational analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to build and maintain relationships with administration, medical staff, support staff and external customers.
Ability to detect errors and maintain the highest level of confidentiality when collecting and reporting data.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Normal office environment where there is no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high risk body fluids.
Occasionally may be required to lift boxes, stand for extended periods and push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 75 lbs when setting up and participating in outreach events.
Certified Specialist in Poison Information (CSPI) – to be able to staff phone lines as needed during staffing shortages is preferred
Master’s degree in Public Health preferred
This position requires travel up to 40% of the time. Most of the travel is day trips but there is some over night travel required.
