GOBankingRates is looking for a Podcast Intern for our 2024 GOInterns Program! We're in search of a Podcast Intern with a keen interest in audio content creation and editing to join our dynamic team.
The perfect candidate is enthusiastic about the world of podcasts, possesses strong writing skills, and can craft script questions in a timely manner. We're looking for someone who is not only willing but also eager to learn new tools and skills relevant to podcast production. As an intern working closely with our lead producer and editor, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to our biweekly podcast episodes that will be featured on various platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.
This is a minimum 16-week internship beginning in Spring that will provide hands-on experience working on challenging real-world problems that will help build your expertise and resume!
- Assist in producing under the guidance of our podcast producer and host.
- Help production by researching sources for episodes, coordinating remote booking requests, etc.
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions to develop titles and subjects that can be covered in the podcast.
- Work with the content team and design team to help promote the podcast on social media platforms, email newsletters and any marketing ideas that can help build the podcast brand.
- Have your voice heard - We are always open to new ways of doing things, so your feedback on increasing efficiency and/or improving quality is more than welcome!
- Perform other duties as required.
- Currently pursuing or recently obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Digital Media or a related field.
- General interest in digital media.
- A positive and can do attitude is a must.
- Well organized and get meet deadlines. Strong spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
- Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and G Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets) and Zoom conferencing software
- Commitment to excellent storytelling and thoughtfulness about what makes a good podcast interview.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
- Strong communication, project management, and critical thinking skills.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week for the duration of the 16-week program.
