Your Purpose in this Role

We are one of the top premier Commercial HVAC and Plumbing Contractors in the state of Arizona. We are looking for growth-motivated and self-starting individuals who value efficiency, reliability, and family.

As a Plumbing/Piping Superintendent, you will play a critical role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of plumbing and piping installations for various construction projects. You will be responsible for managing on-site operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing and piping systems, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with project teams.

Pay

$80,000 to $90,000 - Salary

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:
    1. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements. Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with plumbing / mechanical piping codes and standards. Develop detailed work plans and schedules for plumbing / piping activities, considering the scope and duration of the project.
  2. Subcontractor Relations:
    1. Develop and maintain subcontractor relationships to support company growth and opportunities. Maintain clear subcontractor communication to ensure overall project success and timely completion that fosters a positive work environment.
  3. Material Procurement and Inventory Management:
    1. Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and Project Managers to procure plumbing / Piping materials, fixtures, and equipment required for the project. Maintain an inventory of plumbing materials and equipment, ensuring that they are adequately stocked and available as needed. Monitor material costs and optimize procurement processes to stay within budget constraints.
  4. Supervision and Leadership:
    1. Supervise and direct a team of plumbers, pipefitters, and laborers, assigning tasks and ensuring that work is performed safely and efficiently. Provide on-the-job training and guidance to plumbing staff, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  5. Quality Control and Assurance:
    1. Implement quality control measures to ensure that plumbing / piping installations meet industry standards and project requirements. Conduct inspections and tests of plumbing / piping systems, fixtures, and connections to identify and rectify any defects or deficiencies. Document inspection findings and maintain accurate records of work performed, deviations, and corrective actions taken.
  6. Cost Management and Budget Control:
    1. Monitor project expenses related to plumbing work, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies without compromising quality or safety standards. Prepare and submit regular progress reports and cost projections to project management, highlighting any variances or deviations from the budget.
  7. Client Communication:
    1. Serve as the primary point of contact for plumbing-related issues and inquiries from clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities. Provide regular updates and progress reports. Addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally. Foster positive relationships with clients, striving to exceed their expectations and deliver successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing and piping construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Must possess excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Should have a thorough understanding of safety regulations, protocols, and best practices.
  • Project Management Skills including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Candidate should be adept at problem-solving, able to identify issues promptly, and implement solutions.
  • Flexible schedule - JOC work often requires operations to take place at nights or weekends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to Personal, Divisional and Company Success
  • Experience with state, local and federal Government facilities preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass Background check.
  • Other duties as assigned.
