Job Description: Plumbing Technician/Trainer
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Plumbing Technician/Trainer to join our team. This position combines the responsibilities of a plumbing technician with the role of training and guiding new or less experienced plumbing staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing plumbing repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks while also training, coaching, and mentoring junior plumbing technicians. Responsibilities:
1. Perform a wide range of plumbing tasks, including repairs, installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
2. Utilize skill and expertise to ensure accurate diagnosis and resolution of plumbing issues.
3. Train and develop junior plumbing technicians by providing guidance, coaching, and hands-on instruction to improve their skills and knowledge.
4. Conduct comprehensive on-the-job training programs to equip plumbing trainees with the necessary tools, techniques, and knowledge to perform plumbing tasks independently.
5. Evaluate trainee performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop customized training plans to address these needs.
6. Monitor trainee progress, regularly assessing their skill levels and providing constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
7. Assist in coordinating and delivering training programs, workshops, and seminars to enhance overall technical and professional capabilities of the plumbing team.
8. Stay updated with new plumbing technologies, tools, methods, and industry best practices to ensure training programs incorporate the latest advancements.
9. Collaborate with plumbing team leaders and management to enhance training curricula, procedures, and materials.
10. Ensure compliance with safety standards, plumbing codes, and regulations during training and plumbing assignments.
11. Maintain and manage training documentation, including trainee records, evaluations, and training materials.
12. Assist in developing and implementing standardized operating procedures for plumbing tasks.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
2. Proven experience as a licensed plumber in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
3. Excellent knowledge of plumbing systems, repair techniques, and industry regulations.
4. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to diagnose plumbing issues accurately.
5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train, mentor, and coach junior plumbing technicians.
6. Proven ability to organize and conduct training programs, workshops, and seminars.
7. Strong knowledge of training methodologies and practices.
8. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
9. Attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing plumbing systems.
10. Valid plumbing license/certifications (if required by local regulations).
11. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (50+ pounds).
12. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
