Plumbing Project Manager Pay Range (Salaried):
$80k-$120k Actual pay depends on education, experience, and performance
Project Manager Job Description:
  • Review construction plans and/or renderings and anticipates the plumbing system needs well enough to develop construction cost estimates.
  • Read and interpret plumbing plans. Review takeoff lists and materials for ordering and installation purposes. Contact suppliers for cost information and purchase order processing and follow-up.
  • Manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously- Ensure strong communication during the course of construction between GC, and field teams.
  • Lead and participate in pre-bid meetings, project planning, scheduling, developing cost estimates, and establishing critical project objectives.
  • Perform quality control on each project throughout each phase to maintain expected quality standards and installation per plan specifications, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Adjust schedules and targets for each project as needed or as financing for a project change.
  • Properly staff, manage, and support projects. Identify and communicate resource needs to management. Ensure that all project team members understand their roles and responsibilities on each project.
  • Ensure projects are executed per company standard operating procedures, project management standards, codes, and procedures.
  • Ensure company tools and materials are not at risk of theft through course of construction by managing and timing supplies and tools on site.
  • Negotiate back charges, damage claims, change orders, disputed change orders, and/or contract settlement amounts with the customer and subcontractors; consults with Plumbing Manager
  • Coordinate progress billings and change orders with the Plumbing Manager.
  • Attend all required meetings to include hand-off, closeout, field, management, productivity, continuous improvement, customer, and subcontractor.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with estimators, general contractors, site superintendents, field team, and customers.
  • Provide continuous support to job foreman/journeyman. Ensure all employees are treated with respect and dignity and follows all safety and quality standards.
  • Be assigned and run jobs as a project lead depending on workload and scheduling.
  • Complete additional tasks as requested by Plumbing Manager.

Plumbing Project Manager Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma, or GED.
  • Must have at least four years or equivalent experience as a licensed Master Plumber or Journeyman.
  • Five years of recent previous project management experience in construction or plumbing. PMP certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of commercial mechanical construction processes
  • Exception leadership skills. Has the ability to teach, train and hold accountable.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity and maintains the confidentiality of personnel and business information.
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, initiative, and communications skills.
  • Must have effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret project manuals, plans, plans, applicable building codes, and operating manuals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, and possess the aptitude to learn and use additional computer software as needed.

  • Must be 21 years or older and have a valid driver's license.
