Your Key Responsibilities

Joining our team as a Plumbing and Fire Protection Design Engineer offers significant opportunities for growth, and the foundation for a successful career through work on a diverse project both small and large, across multiple sectors including but not limited to; Commercial, Hospitality, Transit Buildings, Federal Assignment, Industrial and Infrastructure.  Our team members enjoy working directly with clients, providing solutions, and as valued members of collaborative project teams.

The Plumbing /Fire Protection Designer will be responsible for:

  • Preparing application for local Utility company (Gas, Water, Sewer)
  • Working with senior engineer and assist him with design and engineering.
  • Prepare hydraulic calculations
  • Following the design approaches and concepts assigned be senior engineer
  • Research and study NFPA Standards and Building, Plumbing, and Gas Codes
  • Produce detailed Plumbing and Fire Protection layouts in Auto-Cad and Revit, based on applicable codes and standards 
  • Develop all plumbing riser diagrams
  • Communicate with team members for coordinated designs
  • Provide construction phase engineering support including site observations, responding to RFIs and submittals, and close out services
Your Capabilities and Credentials

This is a great opportunity for a Plumbing and Fire Protection Design Engineer with experience with one of the following markets or a combination of Commercial, Institutional, Healthcare, Transportation as well as experience in Large Infrastructure Design. In addition to your engineering experience, to succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems design for various projects with the ability to communicate design concepts via sketches and renderings
  • A working knowledge of the various applications of fire suppression systems gained through both formal training and project experience
  • Ability to quickly learn how to design riser diagrams (Sanitary, Domestic Water, Storm, Gas and Fire Protection)
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferable to have 1-3 years of relevant experience in the Plumbing and Fire Protection Design field.
