PLUMBER SUBSTITUTE

The Plumber Substitute is responsible for installation, repairing, inspection, modification, remodel, repair, and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution, heating, and waste water disposal.
Scope
The Plumber will report to the Building Manager and will maintain, troubleshoot, and test plumbing systems; assemble, install and repair small pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures; cut, thread and weld pipes; assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes. Participate in the maintenance and operations of the plumbing shop, clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.
Plumber should work in cooperation and coordination with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of Preventive Maintenance Programs. Providing adequate services will ensure that all water supply networks and waste and drainage systems are installed, repaired and maintained to meet all standards of the building code and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and components

Main Activities

• Review and complete Service Orders (HotSOS)
• Identify required tools and special equipment
• Checks tools and equipment and replaces components such as washers, gaskets, and filters.
• Assemble and install valves and fittings
• Install, repair and maintain sinks, tubs, and toilets
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures
• Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
• Repairs piping of various size and type

Knowledge of:

• Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the plumbing trade. Be able brace, solder, and cut using a torch.
• Ability to work cooperatively
