The Pleating Machine Operator - 2nd Shift is responsible for operating machinery relevant to the production of mesh packs that are used in the manufacturing of Elements. This position will begin training on 1st shift for approximately 3 months and then move to 2nd Shift once training is completed.
You will make an impact in this role by:
- Needs to understand the HYDAC Quality Policy and Quality Objectives and how they are related to this position.
- Must read and interpret production work instructions, production orders, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and quality plans.
- Use fixed and variable measurement equipment.
- Locate, identify, and retrieve components for production.
- Set up and operation of one or more of the following machine types: Pleating Machine(s)-Mechanical; Pleating Machine(s)-Computer Numerical Control
- Operation of stationary lifting devices and hoists.
- Operation of powered mobile material handling equipment. (Slitting machine only)
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on machines.
- Observe safety rules, housekeeping requirements and other company policies and work-rules.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
To be considered for the Pleating Machine Operator - 2nd Shift role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED or up to 1-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, client, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternate solutions.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations.
- Must be able to independently seek assistance from supervision and/or other departments to perform given tasks (Engineering, Customer Service, etc.)
