SAIC is seeking a Platform Sustainment Lead to join our energized team as we embark on a large DoD AI initiative.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Sustainment Lead with Agile project management expertise to oversee and enhance the operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our critical platform and its infrastructure. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and Agile project management skills to ensure our platform remains robust, efficient, and aligned with evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, detail-oriented, and motivated, empowered to drive Agile practices and methodologies. They should be able to navigate through uncertainty and possess strong coaching and critical thinking abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the go-to expert for sustaining the platform and its infrastructure, providing technical guidance and leadership.
  • Spearhead the formulation and execution of platform operations strategies, including capacity planning, performance monitoring, disaster recovery, and incident response plans.
  • Design and deploy automated systems for monitoring network configurations, performance metrics, and identifying and resolving network issues proactively.
  • Oversee the testing, evaluation, and integration of new enterprise capabilities for continuous improvement of critical platforms and infrastructure.
  • Conduct routine operations and maintenance tasks, promptly addressing and rectifying any issues or repairs needed for the platform and its connections to source systems.
  • Modify application software and systems to include corrective and preventive maintenance, to meet new user requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers in modifying application software and systems for corrective and preventive maintenance, addressing new user requirements, and resolving challenges posed by aging systems or architectural changes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the design, deployment, and management of both cloud-based and hybrid-cloud environments, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at optimizing platform operations, improving service delivery, and enhancing customer satisfaction, utilizing data analytics and metrics for informed decision-making.
  • Install and configure automated tools to track network configuration; monitor status and performance; detect, diagnose, and resolve network problems.
  • Ensure all platform operations adhere to security and privacy standards and regulatory requirements, implementing comprehensive security measures and conducting periodic audits.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud-native technologies and operations management, integrating relevant advancements to elevate platform operations.
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery using Agile methodologies, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Track project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and manage changes in scope or priorities,  and project future capacity requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report project metrics, including budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Continuously improve project management processes and practices based on lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar discipline, Master’s degree and twelve (12) years of experience or PhD and ten (10) years of experience. Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of education.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience supporting operations and maintenance in DoD IT enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing platform operations and service delivery teams, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud computing infrastructure and platform solutions on at least one of the large Cloud Service Providers (CSP); Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments and across multiple security enclaves or networks.
  • Experience testing and supporting cloud applications.
  • Experience utilizing Agile development methodologies and Application Lifecycle Management.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional technology team.
  • A minimum of one of the following professional certifications:
    • Professional Cloud Solutions Architect (PCSA)
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect (Professional)
    • MS Certified Azure Solutions Architect (Expert)
    • Google Cloud Certified Architect (Professional)

Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
