We are looking for a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for a highly recognized and sought-after plastic surgery center in West Des Moines, IA, Des Moines Plastic Surgery.
The facility is home to a private On-Site Operating Facility dedicated exclusively to cosmetic surgery - from facelifts and tummy tucks to breast augmentation and liposuction. All consultation, surgery, recovery, and postoperative care take place in one familiar environment with the same knowledgeable and friendly staff who follow our patients throughout the process. The On-Site Operating Facility allows for a next-level standard of care and privacy throughout their experience.

Your duties as a Plastic Surgeon will include consulting with patients before surgery, advising them on the best surgical options and associated risks, and performing surgeries and patient follow-ups. You should possess excellent communication skills, be able to work long hours and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
The ideal candidate for this position should be skilled in reconstructive surgical techniques, have a steady hand under pressure, and be an active listener who can answer patient questions in a non-judgmental manner and alleviate their concerns.
Responsibilities:
- Meeting with patients to take their medical history and examine their files to provide them with the best surgical options
- Outlining all the risks and benefits associated with the surgery before the procedure
- Consulting with patients who suffer from birth defects, injuries, or burn wounds, or those who want to enhance their physical appearance
- Preparing patients for surgical and non-surgical procedures
- Prescribing medication like painkillers and antibiotics, and providing aftercare advice to patients
- Scheduling follow-up appointments to remove stitches, inspect incisions, and monitor the patient’s healing
- Handling various administrative duties like updating patient records and clinic policies
Requirements
- A degree in medicine
- Completion of a residency program
- Must be a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
- Additional courses and training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery
- Years of practical experience in surgery
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- A sound understanding of patient aftercare and wound management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and impeccable bedside manner
