Job Description
We are seeking a Plastic Injection Process Technician to join our team in Largo, FL! The Production Clerk will coordinate the flow of work and materials between departments as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Position Title: Injection Molding Process Technician
Schedule:
1st Shift (Day Shift) 7am – 3:30pm Monday through Friday
2nd Shift (Afternoon Shift) 3pm – 11:30pm Monday through Friday
3rd Shift (Overnight Shift) 11pm – 7:30am Monday through Friday
Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate injection molding machines according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Process Monitoring: Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure the production of high-quality molded parts within specified tolerances.
- Tooling Changeovers: Perform tooling changeovers efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime between production runs.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues related to the injection molding process, such as machine malfunctions, tooling problems, and material inconsistencies.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of molded parts to ensure they meet quality standards, and make adjustments as necessary to address defects.
- Material Handling: Handle and manage raw materials, including loading/unloading materials into/from machines and overseeing material drying processes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of process parameters, tooling changes, and production issues. Complete production logs and reports as required.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production team members, engineers, and quality control personnel to achieve production goals and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or coursework in injection molding is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as an Injection Molding Process Technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, and various plastic materials. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information about process adjustments and issues.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changes in production schedules and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality parts and adherence to specifications.
