Plasma Processor

Position: Plasma Processor

Reports to: Center Management

Department: Plasma Center Operations

Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt or Contract

Summary: Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager and in compliance with the Hemarus Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and State/Federal regulations the employee will process, store, pack, stage, and ship plasma units and samples. Perform all necessary calibrations of processing equipment and provide thorough and accurate documentation of such calibrations. Lead Plasma Processor will assist in training, leading, and monitoring. Able to spend short periods of time in plasma freezers colder than -30°C.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Able to spend short periods of time in plasma freezers colder than -30°C.

Handles responsibilities in many operational areas of the plasma center such as maintaining accurate donor files, shipping, and inventory control

Collects and processes donor samples for processing and testing

Records weight of product and samples Labels samples and freezes units for final packing within required timeframe

Packs units for final shipment; packs samples and prepares shipping box to send samples to the testing lab

Monitors stored products and reports working conditions of equipment

Maintains active communication and quality

Monitor freezer performance, maintenance and documentation, and reporting freezer excursions and temperature variances.

Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent, college education preferred.

2. Able to speak, read, and legibly write English.

3. Able to use a computer.

Physical Requirements:

1. Manual dexterity

2. Ability to stand for long periods of time.

3. Able to pull and lift upwards to 50 pounds.

4. Able to spend short periods of time in plasma freezers colder than -30°C.
