Plasma Operator

Borrmann Metal Center powered by UPG is looking to hire a Machine Operator to join our dynamic team! Borrmann Metal is a growing steel service center that has been in business for almost 60 years. Successful candidates will have ideally worked in the steel industry (but not required) and have a solid level of experience with the types of specialized products and services produced by steel service centers. We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• The Machine Operator will operate a 25 Ton Crane, large structural material movement/rigging experience/license
• We have multiple machine operator positions open, including shear operators and shear helpers, CNC plasma burn machine operators, CNC oxy fuel burn machine operators, grinders, brake press operators and brake press helpers.
• Capability to identify and measure different types of structural material
• The Machine Operator understands operating instructions, machine controls and HMI (Human Machine Interface) for steel processing type of equipment
• Working/Operator level knowledge required for Burn Department: Plasma, Oxy Fuel and Laser burning equipment (Messer, Tanaka, Omada, Python and Peddinghaus)
• Working/Operator level knowledge required for Saw Department: Hydraulic Band Sawing, Vertical and Horizontal tilting with mitering capability (Kasto and Hyd-Mech)
• The Machine Operator is capable of reading prints and understanding nesting requirements for processing customer orders

Position Requirements:

• Able to work 2nd shift
• Must be able to complete criminal background check and drug screen per company guidelines
