Plant Quality Engineer
Position Summary: As a member of the Plant Quality Team, the Plant Quality Engineer shall provide
coaching and training to meet internal and external customer requirements. He/She ensures the
application of the Automotive Industry Quality Core Tools, such as Problem solving, FMEA, MSA,
APQP, PPAP, etc. and the Faurecia 8 Quality Basics (8QB). The Plant Quality Engineer will support
the quality department activities and promote continuous improvement of current processes.
Responsibilities:
• Represents the customer within the plant and acts accordingly within his/her assigned
production lines
• Keep all quality documentation updated within his/her assigned production lines,
and ensure consistency between PFMEA, control plan and work instructions
• Organizes PFMEA updates with the plant process engineer
• Implement the necessary quality operating tools and methods to demonstrate
process stability and operator's qualification: master/boundary samples,
green/red rabbits for Poka-Yoke verification, gages, Capability studies, Gage
R&R analysis, product audit checklist, etc.
• Coach and train the Quality Technicians and operator/GAP leaders/supervisors
on the quality principles of Faurecia and Customer specifics
• Responsible for complaint management for internal and external customers. He/She
ensures complaints are managed in due time with active participation from production
personnel. He/She will utilize adequate Problem-Solving techniques (e.g. 8D) and reports
regularly in reporting tools until closure (e.g. QSS)
• Communicate warranty claims with engineering department and warranty group
and follow-up with the plant's corrective action plans for the claims
• Prepare internal/external deviation requests with supporting data and submit
for approval
• Support the Program Quality Leader (PQL) to submit new model program
PPAP to the customer. Subsequent serial life PPAP for engineering changes,
process changes or in-sourcing is the responsibility of the Plant Quality Engineer
• Leads the Quality System Efficiency (QSE), Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), Safety
& Regulatory (S&R) activities within his/her perimeter. Request the support of QSE
Engineer, SQA Engineer or Plant S&R coordinator for specific issues
• Conduct internal quality audits (Process, product) as planned, and support all internal and
external quality audits as needed
• Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization
and within the site

Position Specifications
Authorities:
• Has the authority to stop any process or product delivery in case of serious non[1]conformance (customer requirements, safety and regulatory issues, or similar)
• Reject supplier material as warranted
• Approve all work instructions including OK 1st piece instruction and inspection
instructions
• Enforce Control Plan per the customer requirements and standards
• Reject or accept PFMEAs, Poka-Yoke and Control Plans
• Request to correct a process in case of system requirement is not met (ISO, IATF, VDA, FES,
etc.)
• Reporting to upper management/leadership on quality standard issues. Escalation must
be reported immediately to the Plant Quality Manager upon observance of S&R non[1]compliance
• Has the authorization to approve purchases with corporate credit card, expenses and
purchase orders to his/her N-1
Knowledge / Skills:
• Presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient level of English
• Able to collect, analyze, and present facts and data (MS Office, Minitab, etc.)
• Master problem-solving techniques to prevent issue reoccurrence

• Proven Automotive industry quality experience and understanding of supply chain
Education / Experience:
• Minimum education level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Management or
technician with equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Minimum 3 years related experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive
industry preferred)
• Experience with various Quality system methodologies: 8D, 3 Legs and 5 Why's, LEAN
manufacturing, Pareto analysis and statistical studies
• Certified in Automotive requirements (ISO 9001/ IATF 16949, VDA, etc.) preferred
• Certified in all AIAG/VDA Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, FMEA, APQP, SPC) preferred
• Experienced with OEM customer specific requirements / standards
