Job Description
Responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the operation, maintenance and repair of the water and wastewater treatment systems, with limited supervisory assistance.
This position requires the applicant to currently hold a Water/Wastewater Certificate.
We operate 24/7. This position requires working a rotating shift schedule, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Performs general observations of water/wastewater plant processes, and chemical fields.
- Monitor all in service equipment, reports findings verbally and written
- Maintains assigned facilities
- Operates light to medium equipment
- Takes readings and logs data from charts, meters, and gauges
- Collects and tests samples
- Performs monthly preventative maintenance
- Operates and maintains well field, water booster stations, storage tanks, and sewage pump stations
Qualifications
- Current MDE Certification - Required
- WW 5A or Water Treatment 3 - Required
- At least 3 years of experience as an Operator in Water/Wastewater Treatment
- Valid Driver's License
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical training in biology, environmental science, chemistry
- Basic computer/math skills
- Communicate orally and in writing
- Hold and maintain federal security clearance
