ABOUT THE ROLE
Aggregate Industries operates seven regional construction materials businesses in the United States. The core business of producing crushed stone and sand & gravel is enhanced by downstream operations that produce ready mixed concrete, asphalt, and concrete products. In addition, recycling, liquid asphalt, soil remediation and retailing businesses are also in operation, creating true, vertically integrated divisions.
Our regional businesses participate in all sectors of the construction industry, supplying aggregates-based materials and contracting services to a wide range of projects including large, publicly financed infrastructure projects, commercial, and residential developments.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Performs emergency and routine repairs and maintenance on plant equipment and structures at the site locations. May perform routine preventative maintenance on mobile equipment. Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment.
- Assists in various projects at the plant locations to make sure production is maintained.
- Responsible for maintaining the appearance of the plant and yard area by using general housekeeping practices.
- Perform assignments outlined by supervisors and standard procedures are followed in the performance of duties. Work is inspected periodically for safety and economy in operation.
- Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.
- Safely perform maintenance activities to insure plant efficiency
- Demonstrates a commitment to adhering to safety policies in all work environment and areas.
- Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION
- Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
- Trains and coaches other employees when needed
- Performs other duties as time permits or as assigned
- To act in a safe manor, aware and willing to act upon observing any unsafe practices.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write and speak English. Must have the ability to understand and abide by Company policies and safety rules
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Excellent equipment operation skills
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work long hours depending on demand. Overtime is required.
- Capable of working independently while maintaining cooperative working relationships with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent
