Plant Operations Tech - Days

The Plant Operations Technician will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance staff with general duties.

• Required to pick up shredding once a week on campus and as needed for Clinics.
• Daily rounds on medical gas bottles, refill each department’s gas needs.
• On a monthly basis, needs to check fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, and area sweeps.
• Assist the maintenance staff when additional help is needed. May be required to do more detailed maintenance with and without direct supervision.
• Assemble items that come from Purchasing before delivering to other departments.
• Move boxes of records to storage.
• Cross-training in various areas of plant operation, repair and preventative maintenance.
• Will receive training in one or more trade and will be expected to help in that area when needed.
• Courier duties to Ace Hardware, Home Depot and occasionally to Grand Junction.
• Required to take call after an orientation period and may be called in after hours for emergencies or snow removal in the winter.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a driver’s license and clear motor vehicle record.
• Must have own basic hand tools.
• Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools.
• Must have good customer service skills.
• Be able to follow oral or written instructions.
• Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
• Must adapt readily to change; be flexible; ability to problem solve; must be able to work required schedule including call.
