Job description

Position Summary:

Client is a facility that processes 110k bushels of soybeans daily into soybean oil, soybean meal, and soy
hull pellets. The Plant Engineer is responsible for identifying and helping to implement process improvements for
production in all facets of operation through direct contributions of project development from conception through
start-up utilizing engineering and performance excellence principles to operate, troubleshoot, and improve chemical
and mechanical processes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify process improvement opportunities, develop solutions, and lead the implementation of solutions.
  • Develop new process ideas through researching various technical resources with similar processes or
  • business applications.
  • Complete analyses to determine required modifications in response to operational problems and/or to
  • support projects.
  • Identify safety and environmental needs and requirements, and ensure such considerations are included in
  • the development and modification of facilities.
  • Analyze existing processes for cost savings, reliability, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain records of production, downtime, and other operating performance indicators.
  • Assist plant management with process changes or development of potential changes to enhance operations
  • and meet product quality parameters.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering required.
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in Press/Plant manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of product testing practices, policies, procedures, and services.
  • Knowledge of the general industry regulations and practices.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills along with the ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple work assignments.

Business Acumen:

  • Technical Knowledge and Skills – Experience with bioprocessing or related industrial production (crushing, refinery, roasting production, etc.); experience with large scale production equipment, automation,troubleshooting, repairs, and oversight of key vendors; combined technical and process (chemistry,bioprocess) understanding important to have success in this position.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull.
  • Ability to occasionally kneel.
  • Ability to frequently carry/lift light to heavy loads of up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
