Our client is searching for a Plant Engineer to join their Louisville team. The Plant Engineer will ensure the operational availability of the plant and continually improve process technology with consideration to internal and external regulations, product quality, economy, current technology, equipment integrity, occupational and process safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for initiating and developing concepts to improve plant efficiency, maximize equipment reliability, optimize maintenance spend, and reduce energy costs
- Responsible for ensuring technical and optimal availability of the production equipment in area of responsibility
- Execute weak-point analysis using Lean-Sigma methods, such as DMAIC, targeting cost reduction, efficiency increase, and a trouble-free operation
- Support and evaluate engineering projects by performing feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and technical dimensioning of equipment
- Steer and control project progress to achieve agreed project targets with regards to scope, timeline, and budget
- Responsible for selecting the proper technical partners that provide viable technical solutions for current processes
- Manage scoping and cost/benefit analysis of potential projects within area of responsibility
- Create and maintain all technical plant documentation; ensure proper utilization of Management of Change
Job Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
- 3 years industry experience required with 5+ being preferred, chemical processing in a manufacturing environment would also be preferred but not required
- Project Management experience
- Lean/Six Sigma/TPM certifications or experience preferred
- SAP experience is preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
