We are looking to grow our team and fill the position of Plant Engineer. As Plant Engineer you will be responsible for leading the maintenance team and overseeing all aspects of repair maintenance, preventive maintenance and machinery reliability to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by implementing best practices in maintenance and reliability, reducing downtime and optimizing equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities include the following:
- Maintenance Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans to ensure the optimal performance of manufacturing equipment.
- Coordinate and execute both reactive and preventative maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize downtime.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in maintenance procedures and implement best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Utilize data analytics tools to assess equipment performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Generate reports on equipment reliability, maintenance KPIs and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA and other regulatory requirements.
- Drive initiatives and support activities that improve and maintain high levels of safety compliance and accident prevention throughout the operation.
- Training and Development
- Provide training on new equipment, maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Initiative programs and activities that develop team members and stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualified candidates should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in maintenance and reliability engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance strategies and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-orientated environment, both within maintenance and cross functionally.
- Familiar with OSHA standards related to manufacturing environments.
