SEMASS Co-Op Students
The duties of a Co-op Student comprise of, but not limited to:

• Drag chain shaft and flight de-ragging.
• General housekeeping of the facility both internal and exterior
• Pressure washing structures and vacuuming of areas
• Ash pit cleaning and minor conveyor maintenance, i.e., rollers, seals, scrapers.
• Boiler outage work, which may include:
  
  • On and offline pressure washing
  • Unplugging hoppers and conveyors
  • Internal boiler cleaning
  • Tipping valve tune ups and repairs

• Expansion joint repairs and replacement
• Perform maintenance on equipment:
  
  • Bag replacement on COHPAC and baghouse systems
  • Lubricating machinery
  • Small pump repair
  • Small piping installations
  • Grate repairs
  • Slacker screen replacements
  • Expansion joint replacements
  • Plant upgrades
  • Training
  • Filter replacements
• Assist maintenance during outages.
• Operate surge bins when needed
• Perform picking platform duties when needed.
• Assist other departments in their various task
• Assist Engineering for Non-Destructive Examinations
• Painting
• Unloading fuel oil
• Confine space attendant
• Assist in fire prevention (fire watch) and extinguishment of incipient fires
• Scheduled and unscheduled Overtime to support the needs
• Air cooled condenser washing
• Performing shift coverage during vacations & training periods

Must be 18 years of age and be in the process of successfully completing in high school. Work/school co-op program.
