Davis Demographics, a division of MGT, is seeking a Planning Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Planning Analyst will play a key role in the planning, forecasting, and development of strategies to improve public schools and communities. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in planning, school district student forecasting, exceptional soft skills, team leadership abilities, and public speaking proficiency. Experience in school rezone planning, enrollment forecasting, CAD, GIS, or housing development research is a significant advantage.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Data Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Analyze demographic and spatial data to support school district planning and community development projects.
- Develop strategies and recommendations based on data analysis.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead project teams, collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients to achieve project goals.
- Mentor and guide junior staff members as needed.
School District Panning and Forecasting:
- Utilize your experience in school district student forecasting to help shape enrollment projections.
- Contribute to school rezone planning efforts.
Effective Communication:
- Deliver engaging and informative presentations to clients, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
- Communicate complex planning concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability in reports and recommendations.
- Conduct thorough data validation and error-checking processes.
Continued Learning:
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in the field of school planning and housing research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in urban planning, geography, demography, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in urban planning or related fields.
- Proficiency in school district student forecasting.
- Exceptional soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and leadership.
- Public speaking proficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with CAD and GIS software is a plus.
- Knowledge of housing development research, school rezone planning, or enrollment forecasting is advantageous.
- Passion for creating positive change in public schools and communities.
