Working in a hybrid office model, the candidate will collaborate with engineering, architecture and planning professionals, transportation officials, stakeholders, and support team members. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and tracking of project status and submissions on behalf of the transportation agency.
- Communicate with several project managers within and with other A/E firms to disseminate new standards or process protocols on behalf of the transportation agency.
- Attend project status meetings (most virtual) and prepare meeting agendas and write meeting minutes.
- Perform research for special initiatives and prepare drafts of technical memos, presentations, and other written materials summarizing research with findings and conclusions including appropriate graphics for intended audience.
- Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, online government GIS data, and other visualization tools to gather data for specific project areas, site impact, and associated physical, urban, population, economic, and political sensitivities.
- Assist with the preparation of general plans, specific/master plans, zoning codes, permitting policies and/or development standards for assigned projects, with a particular emphasis on transportation and multimodal accommodation.
- Perform professional transportation planning work and assist with conducting investigations, inspections, studies, and surveys to gain further information on a particular problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future needs affecting equitable development, construction, transportation demand management, mobility planning, and multimodal access.
- Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, models, infographics, and 3D illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
- Assist in preparing, coordinating and facilitating public and stakeholder outreach meetings in support of client project work, answering public questions on behalf of the client.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Architecture, or related.
- Internship or practical experience in the transportation industry.
- Competency with MS Office, virtual Teams meeting dynamics, CAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up.
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.
- Ability to travel 20% of time.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
