What You Will Do
As an HVAC pipefitter, you will install, inspect, document maintain and repair a variety of utility equipment and systems throughout the plant including HVAC, dust collectors, fire suppression, steam, water, disposal, gas, air, hydraulic and process material. Operates both electric-welding and acetylene-welding apparatus. Adhere to procedures for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as specified by the Food and Drug Administration, as related to the job of Pipefitter. Hours for this role are 11pm-7am
Additional duties

• Plan and layout installations using piping standards. Perform work from piping sketches or blueprints. Choose the proper size and type for pipe for the application.
• Install, maintain, and repair pipelines including: steam, condensate, water, sprinkler, drainage, waste, vent, gas, air, hydraulic and process and their fittings, valves and traps. Cut and thread pipe as required.
• Cut holes in walls or floor as required for running pipe. Perform necessary pressure test on completed work.
• Insulate and repair pipe coverings as necessary.
• Adjust and repair automatic air handling systems. Perform repairs to refrigeration units. Change filters as needed.
• Inspect, document and test fire sprinkler system as required. Perform and document routine inspections of fire extinguishers, air handling units, dust collectors and vacuum systems as required.
• Serve on fire sprinkler system as a valve person or pump person as assigned.
• Perform repairs to pumps, pump seals and valves as necessary including valve diaphragm and pump seal replacements.
• Operate both electric and acetylene welding apparatus, fusing metal parts together to fabricate metal objects or to repair broken or cracked objects. Use welding equipment properly. Perform soldering and brazing as required .
• Work with other Engineering Craftpersons where pipefitting is required.
• Maintain inventory of supplies used in routine operation and restock cabinets as necessary
• Understand equipment in the boiler room and how it interfaces with the rest of the facility in order to assist operating engineers as required.
• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, maintain and install pneumatic controls in assigned areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical circuits pertaining to HVAC units, restroom controls and solenoid valves.
• Enter data on PC pertaining to repair and maintenance of HVAC or Dust Collector Units. Access data on PC to troubleshoot problems.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area. Clean tools and equipment.
• Ensure FDA/OSHA/EH&S compliance standards are met.
• Perform other duties as directed which are related to the job or other work assignments.
• Observe all safety rules, housekeeping practices and procedures in the performance of duties and train other personnel as required. Proper protective clothing or gear must be utilized when required.
• Self-motivated and able to work well both independently and in an empowered team environment
• Requirement will be to pass a written technical test. Specialized skills in one facet of job functions will not qualify a person for this position
• This role will work in all areas of facility. Environment will range from air-conditioning to 100 degree warehouse to work on roof of buildings. Involves working from ladders, lifts, platforms, climbing stairs, fumes from welding apparatus. May come in contact with various solvents and chemicals.

What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of a High school diploma or GED equivalent and either a trade-school diploma in HVAC or military equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of job experience as a qualified Journey person Pipefitter or Plumber
Desired Qualifications

• Journeyman license/certification
