Job Description: Marine Pipe Welder
Job Summary
As a skilled Marine Pipe Welder, your primary responsibility is to perform high-quality welding on marine components following specific guidelines and blueprints. This role requires expertise in various pipe welding techniques, including but not limited to 6G Open Root welding on CUNI, carbon steel, and stainless steel pipes, as well as socket welding across different pipe materials. Marine Pipe Welders are also required to have extensive experience with Copper Nickel (CUNI) welding.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform welding on marine pipe components, adhering to strict guidelines and specifications.
• Conduct various pipe welding techniques, including 6G Open Root welding on CUNI, carbon steel, and stainless steel pipes, as well as socket welding across different pipe materials.
• Set up parts and assemblies for welding, configuring machines for different pipe materials and gauges.
• Conduct measurements, quality checks, and maintain accurate records throughout the welding process.
• Perform general labor operations related to pipe welding tasks.
Essential Skills & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of welding experience with a focus on marine pipe welding.
• Proficiency in various pipe welding techniques, including 6G Open Root welding on CUNI, carbon steel, and stainless steel pipes, as well as socket welding across different pipe materials.
• Extensive experience with Copper Nickel (CUNI) welding.
• Ability to interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Understanding of welding equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.
Safety & Environmental Factors
All employees are expected to adhere to the company’s safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires physical abilities including standing for the entire shift, using hands for various tasks, ascending stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
