The Pilot Technicians serve as the pivotal role of Ambassador for an assigned General Assembly (GA) group. You are a representative of your line and your department, the associate on the line is your customer. You’ll be on the front line between new products and full scale production.
What You’ll Do- Maintain good communication with different departments/stakeholders to maintain alignment and achieve common goals
- Create and validate processes that solve for Safety / Ergonomics, Manufacturability, Quality, Production Rate, Cost efficiency
- Create a plan for and execute training for all impacted associates in your group
- Expert in GA Group you oversee the ins and out of your group, understand vehicle stacking order, Capable of performing standardized work for all of the stations with quality and within Takt
- Demonstrate understanding of Ergonomic Guidelines, Lean Manufacturing principles, new vehicle introduction scope
- Evaluate and define processes for new equipment being introduced to assembly
- Evaluate new parts and provide feedback to Design on how to improve
- Help validate all major facets of the launch (MES/MOS, tooling & torques, manifest, racks etc.)
- Problem solving skills that includes Root Cause Analysis, Implementing countermeasures and following up to ensure effectiveness
- Demonstrated Open minded, there is more than one solution
- Able to assess priority and display time management skills
- Schedule Flexibility- Required in order to support demand between 1st & 2nd Shifts, with ability to work OT at late notice
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and speak in front of groups
- Demonstrated experience and abilities to coach and train production associates
- Experience with and or ability to learn key systems/programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Zoom, Enovia/Catia/Delmia, Proplanner/Vizendo, MRT/Jira, MES/MOS and many other sub systems
- Demonstrate high attention to detail and be resourceful
