Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Picking Manager, located in Addison, IL. If you have familiarity and experience with management in warehousing, shipping & receiving, coupled with an interest in contributing directly to the bottom line of a multi-billion-dollar organization, this is the position for you!
Responsibilities:
Leading our Picking team you will:
- Oversees all receipt, preparation and shipping activities, ensuring proper implementation of standards, quality, and efficiency.
- Drives the implementation of improvement and standardization measures across fulfilment to meet immediate operational objectives.
- Manages and monitors the implementation of capacity plans to support build-to-stock and/or build-to-order environments.
- Maintains relationships with all departments to ensure smooth shipping and delivery of goods, acting as a key point of knowledge for the team.
- Ensuring all orders are picked, packed, and prepared for the next day's shipments.
- Responsibility for short pick reconciliation
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with all corporate associates, branch management, and branch personnel.
- Participate in regular communication and meetings of Branch leadership to coordinate shift activities.
- Cross shift communication to ensure world class customer service can be achieved via our distribution and logistics capabilities.
- Conduct counseling, mentoring, and performance appraisals as indicated.
- Provide recommendations for selection of new associates to join the team.
- Establish and communicate performance standards to associates.
- Lead team in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote safe work practices and resolve all safety concerns as identified.
- Responsible for working with the Warehouse Manager; evaluating staffing, training, and associate development with the goal of maintaining a stable, well trained, and motivated work force.
- Analyzes information to identify areas of improvement within own area of fulfillment responsibility and implements measures to improve the efficiency of the team.
- Adhere to Company compliance and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Maintain flexible scheduling to provide support and guidance
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to performance manage associates and supervisor(s), to meet company expectations
Qualifications
- A strong background in Warehouse operations and logistics, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Material Handling Equipment Certification is required
- A solid understanding of OSHA and DOT regulations
- Product knowledge is preferred
- Digital literacy, including the ability to learn Ferguson’s inventory system
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities
- Great communication skills and the ability and desire to lead a team

Pay Range:
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
