Position Highlights:
- The Southfield Campus and Novi Campus comprise of 565 patient beds and serve patients in at least three counties
- The OB/GYN residency program is fully accredited by the ACGME and has approval for 20 residents over a four-year cycle
- Institutional affiliations with Michigan State University - College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University - College of Osteopathic Medicine, Wayne State University and American University of the Caribbean
Responsibilities:
- Promotes efficient clinical operations within patient care units for Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Serves as core member in Chain of Command to provide patient safety
- Reviews care plans of patients on L&D. Rounds on L&D floor. Participates during care rounds
- Provides direct supervision of residents
- Functions as supervising/consulting physician for nurse midwifery service
- Limits coverage to personal patients during shift
- Attends "board turn" at beginning of shift and appropriate sign out to transition care at end of shift
- Participates in activities that arise out of regulation changes or citations by the various accreditation bodies or patient safety concerns
- Achieves adequate annual faculty evaluations that confirm demonstrated sill as a supervisor/educator
- Attends department business meetings and ad hoc meetings to address issues related to In-House Attending
- Teach/mentor medical students and residents
- Completes paperwork to obtain and maintain Clinical Academic appointment through MSU-CHM in the Department of OB/GYN
- Attends at least one CME/year at improving administrative, teaching or supervising skills
- Participates in at least one scholarly project annually
- Submits resident performance evaluations in a timely manner
Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date

• BE/BC in specialty
