This is a position for a Physician Extender, (PA or FNP) to provide preventive and acute care for patients in health department programs as described in program policies and procedures.
Alternate work schedule available of four ten hour days.

- This individual will treat medical patients as assigned, compile histories of present and past illnesses, perform physical examinations, order labs and x-rays as indicated, and perform related work as required.
- Health services include but are not limited to child health, family planning, adult health, and chronic disease management.
- Skill in the treating and diagnosing of a variety of diseases and injuries
- Thorough knowledge of recent developments in the field of medicine
- Ability to compile clear and concise notes for patients' charts in an EHR
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients and their families, and the general public
- Other duties as assigned.
Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina.
This position is a safety sensitive position and subject to random substance abuse testing in accordance with the Pender County Personnel Policy and Risk Policy.
This position may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens in the scope of their duties, and will be offered the Hepatitis B vaccination at no charge to the employee, in accordance with OSHA standard 1910.1030.
